- Contents: The origin of the current GR86 is said to be derived from the sports-grade Levin, which made its appearance in 1972 as a high-performance model of the second-generation Corolla model and the Sprinter Trueno, its sister car.The 2-door model of the Corolla is equipped with an exclusive 0.4 US gal (1.6 L) DOHC engine from the Celica GT, in anticipation of the needs of motor sports (rally/circuit driving) that was starting to become active in Japan in the 1970s.A distinguishing feature from the standard Corolla is the bolt-on overfenders equipped on all 4 wheels.Though this model was originally exclusive to Japan, today it is globally recognized as the predecessor of the highly popular AE86 Levin and its sister car, the Sprinter Trueno. It is counted as a legendary car on a global level.In Japan, the TE27 model is often referred to as “27 Levin”.Hot Wheels reproduces the same car with new molds.Customized with a rear spoiler and a chin spoiler.Also note that the car names on the card is written in Japanese (English language not guaranteed).
